Task
By merging two business units, two plants were merged into one. In the course of this merger, synergies were to be leveraged and a significant streamlining and future focus on competitiveness was to take place. Due to a “tense” fixed cost situation, a restructuring with staff reductions was unavoidable and should proceed as “quietly” as possible.
Result:
- Negotiations with works council and agreement on job cuts
- Spreading and communicating a future-proof plant strategy
- Growing together and shaping a common “MeinSchaltwerk” culture
- Harmonization of various processes, e.g. production planning across the different product families
- Transformation to a smart & green factory initiated and initial successes achieved
