The plant was part of a division’s master plan to increase the quality of results. Despite a good order situation, the business contribution was not achieved. The aim was to turn the plant around and return it to profitability.
Result:
- Complete turnaround within 2 years with significant increase in earnings and return to profitability
- Result was achieved through a “Sense of Urgency” without restructuring
Individual steps were:
- Costout program with intensive tracking
- Process streamlining
- Introduction of KPI to measure productive hours
- NCC reduction primarily in engineering
- Culture in dealing with employees
